15 important facts about the new doom

QuakeCon 2018 gave us a lot of details about the future Doom Eternal. Before we knew only the name and the place of action, but now the information is much more. For example, the developers abandoned the number in the name of the game in order to avoid confusion in projects – even inside the studio the first part was called Doom 2016. In general, what to pray, they drove!

1. The character in Eternal is much stronger

If earlier enemies were supposed to finish exclusively with bare hands, now a folding blade is now at the disposal of thought. It diversifies reprisals and accelerates them a little: monsters can be pierced, decapitated, cut along. But the most delicious finishing is still done with a fist: the ability to flatten the head of a zombie is worth a lot!

And Dumgai will also have a powerful shoulder gun that replaced manual grenades. She knows how to spit with both fire and explosives, and ammunition is restored automatically.

2. Instead of a saw, sometimes there will be a sword

However, in addition to the saw, we will sometimes pick up a runic sword-it seems that this is some new mechanics of fighting bosses. He looks great, sorry only, did not show what he is capable of in action.

3. It will become easier to dodge

Dum Sleer will master quick jerks that help to move away from the lightning attacks of demons. It seems that this is another confident step towards the slasers: fat -haired monsters who need to be picking for a long time, the pace as the basis of gameplay and the mechanics of finishing up for a long time related to the game with this genre.

Jerks will be allowed to perform even in the air. In addition, double jumping can be repeated without landing if you grab on the road beyond the protruding part of the decor: jumped twice, caught on the pipe in the air, swayed – and you can jump twice more! Definitely, the mobility of the character in the sequel will increase by an order of magnitude.

4. More vertical gameplay than in the original

6. Opponents from the original doom II will appear

And the changes touched not only the newcomers – opponents from the game of 2016 also were slightly filled, and cacodemones, for example, again played with colors.

7. There will be completely new enemies

The developers were slightly carried away by skeletons: there are several subspecies in Eternal at once. One is hung with grenade launchers and for lack of legs moves on the reactive platform, and the second is partially covered with the same armor as Dumgai. Yes, and is armed with a suspiciously familiar shotgun! The developers called this skeleton a looter and separately noted that he had green armor for a reason.

8. Damage will be displayed on monsters

Simply put, demons will fall apart into pieces. The zombie will have a skeleton, the limbs of arachnotron will become thinner, and the elemental of pain in battle may even lose their horn! There will be so many meat that the last doom against the background of Eternal will seem to you a little vegetarian.

9. A decent plot will be written in Doom, and the world itself will work

The developers promise a full -fledged universe – Doom University. With serious and thoughtful mythology. And if two dozen years ago Karmak thought that the shooter did not need the plot, now times have changed.

10. The scene is not only the Earth

Visually, some new locations send us to Westmarsh from Diablo III – even statues are similar!

Shooting monsters among ruins is good, but the developers have something else to show. Dumgai will visit both the satellite of Mars, Fobos, and in hell, moreover, in its more interesting part. 11. Dynamics on PC and consoles are different

Doom with a mouse and with a gamepad – almost two different games. The pace of the zombie on a powerful RS is much higher. The developers understand this, but they will still release the game on Xbox One , And on PlayStation 4 , And on Switch. The game will be released on all platforms in one day, but FPS in the Switch version, as in the case of the first part, will be limited to thirty personnel per second.

15. Developers plan plot DLC

This, of course, is much more interesting than additional characters for the network game. But … how long have you seen a good story addition for a single shooter? Usually we are allowed to run for several hours on incomprehensible backbone in the role of some secondary character. The main story does not become richer, the heroes are not revealed from the new side.

However, doom in this regard can be special. There are no statists or side stories here. There are only Dumgay and devils that need to be stuffed with lead, plasma and pendelia. And the main thing is a campaign or an addition – it does not matter. Dryvovo will be for sure!
